Traeger hopper sensor
Traeger pellet sensor alerts
A pellet-level message is only useful when it belongs to a grill that actually has a pellet sensor. Start with the exact display and controller family before treating it as a fuel-feed failure.
Confirm the sensor and family first
D2 WiFIRE
Traeger documents a separate calibration path for D2 WiFIRE grills. A low reading with a full hopper can call for calibration, but only where that menu and sensor are documented.
Touchscreen Timberline and Ironwood
These newer models use a different sensor system. Traeger says the D2 calibration routine does not apply; follow the touchscreen notification rather than searching for a hidden calibration control.
Woodridge models
Woodridge Pro and Elite may show their own pellet-sensor displays, including ER28 for a disconnected sensor. Keep the exact model and wording with the official support path.
Name the message before taking action
What the official material supports
Traeger’s documents establish different sensor messages and scopes for D2 WiFIRE, touchscreen Timberline and Ironwood, and Woodridge models. They do not make every Traeger pellet-sensor compatible, turn a low alert into a diagnosis of the auger, or authorize a generic replacement procedure.
