Traeger error codes: ER07, ER06, ER02 and legacy codes

These entries preserve the display wording, controller family, and model scope in Traeger’s own support articles. They are a safe entry point, not a replacement-parts catalogue.

ER07 does not identify an igniter

It records a failed ignition outcome. A cold fire pot, wet fuel, restricted airflow, or an incomplete startup sequence can lead to the same destination. Let the grill cool, preserve the display wording, then follow the safe symptom path before treating any component as the cause.

Looking for ER07

ER07 means the grill did not establish a flame

Traeger uses different display wording across controller families: “Failed to Ignite”, `Error: 0007`, `ER07`, or `Er07`. Let shutdown and cooling finish, then use the fuel, fire-pot, and airflow path before treating the ignitor as failed.

LEr

Low Error Reading

Non-WiFIRE, 3-digit digital controllers

Official scope
  • Traeger’s official article defines the controller family; it does not publish a single model list
What the article establishes
The temperature stays below 125°F / 52°C for more than 10 minutes and the grill shuts down.
Safe first move
Let the cooker cool before checking the fuel, fire pot, and airflow path. A code that clears after a power cycle is not a compatibility verdict.
HEr

High Error Reading

Non-WiFIRE, 3-digit digital controllers

Official scope
  • Traeger’s official article defines the controller family; it does not publish a single model list
What the article establishes
The cooker exceeds 550°F / 287°C and automatically shuts down as a safety precaution.
Safe first move
Do not restart while the cooker is hot. Treat a flare-up, grease-path issue, or excess pellets as a safety condition before attempting another cook.

Legacy sensor and fan errors

Non-WiFIRE grills without WiFi connectivity

Official scope
  • Only the non-WiFIRE family specified by Traeger
What the article establishes
The official article separates RTD connection errors (Err and Er1), an RTD failure indication (Er2), and an induction-fan disconnection indication (Er4).
Safe first move
Record the exact code, cool and unplug the grill before any connection check, then use the manufacturer article for the specific branch.
Error: 0002 · ER02

Low Temp Error

WiFIRE families with display wording that varies by generation

Official scope
  • D2 WiFIRE: Century 885, Ironwood 650/885, Pro 575/780, Redland, Redland XL, Ridgeline XL, Silverton 620/810/XL, Timberline 850/1300
  • Touchscreen WiFIRE: Timberline, Timberline XL, Ironwood, Ironwood XL
  • Woodridge: Woodridge, Woodridge Pro, Woodridge Elite
  • Westwood series
What the article establishes
The cooker remains below 120°F / 48°C for more than 10 minutes; it attempts re-ignition and begins shutdown if that fails.
Safe first move
Allow hot pellets and internal components to cool. Then separate fuel, fire-pot debris, airflow, weather, and incomplete shutdown from a component fault.
Temp Sensor Disconnected · Error: 0006 · ER06

Temperature sensor signal lost

WiFIRE families with display wording that varies by generation

Official scope
  • D2 WiFIRE: Century 885, Ironwood 650/885, Pro 575/780, Redland, Redland XL, Ridgeline XL, Silverton 620/810/XL, Timberline 850/1300
  • Touchscreen WiFIRE: Timberline, Timberline XL, Ironwood, Ironwood XL
  • Woodridge: Woodridge, Woodridge Pro, Woodridge Elite
What the article establishes
The controller is no longer receiving the signal from the internal thermocouple or RTD, often because a connection has come loose.
Safe first move
Finish cooling and unplug before any inspection. Do not buy a probe or controller from the display text alone; the official process differs by family.
Failed to Ignite · Error: 0007 · ER07 · Er07

Ignition did not establish a flame

D2 WiFIRE, Touchscreen WiFIRE, Woodridge, and Westwood display families

Official scope
  • Touchscreen WiFIRE: Timberline, Timberline XL, Ironwood, Ironwood XL
  • Woodridge: Woodridge, Woodridge Pro, Woodridge Pro Plus, Woodridge Elite
  • Westwood: Westwood, Westwood XL
  • D2 WiFIRE: display wording documented as “Failed to Ignite”
What the article establishes
During ignition, the cooker does not establish the temperature rise needed to confirm a flame and begins a shutdown cycle.
Safe first move
Wait for the shutdown and cooling cycle before opening the fire pot. Check the fuel, ash and airflow route before treating the ignitor as failed.
Error: 0010 · ER 10

Ignitor not detected

Touchscreen WiFIRE and Woodridge display families

Official scope
  • Touchscreen WiFIRE: Ironwood, Ironwood XL, Timberline, Timberline XL
  • Woodridge: Woodridge, Woodridge Pro, Woodridge Pro Plus, Woodridge Elite
What the article establishes
The controller does not detect the expected electrical current from the ignitor and prevents a new cook until power-cycled.
Safe first move
Let the ignitor cool completely. Touchscreen WiFIRE models require a firmware check first; Woodridge uses a different connection path.

How to use the registry

Each row reflects the scope of a named Traeger support article at review time. The registry helps you choose the official article to read; it does not extend a reset step, firmware behavior, or replacement guidance to models not listed on that row.
